Fuzz & I flew to Hobart on Tuesday 14 Jan to spend a few days with Guy prior to his departure on Aurora Australis. During this time we met up with most of the other expeditioners (18 men, 1 woman) who Guy will be living with at Mawson Station. They are all lovely people who assured me they will look after Guy for me. I assured them that Guy would look after them. Guy took us out to the Antarctica Division where he spent his training time and introduced us to more interesting people & experiences. The original scheduled departure date on Aurora Australis was for Friday 17 Jan however departure date actually occurred on Tuesday 21 Jan. Fuzz remained in Hobart to spend the extra days with Guy which they both thoroughly enjoyed. As you can imagine Fuzz and I are extremely proud of & excited for Guy. We will miss him however support & encourage him to embrace and appreciate the opportunity & adventure he is now undertaking. God speed!
